BPI Building Analyst & Envelope Professional Training

Prepare yourself for a new career in the fast-growing energy efficiency industry. Earn two Building Performance Institute (BPI) Certifications in one course offered as both a night and weekend class or a weekday intensive class (check the online class list for our currently scheduled offerings).

BPI certification is the nationally approved training standard of the Home Performance with ENERGY STAR Program of the US Department of Energy and the Environmental Protection Agency.

  • National Certification: students prepare and earn certifications that are portable credentials, nationally recognized in the residential new construction, remodeling and energy conservation industries.  
  • Competitive advantage for construction workers by combining existing building and mechanical trade skills with energy auditing and weatherization training.
  • Course taught by BPI certified trainers through Energy Conservation Training Co.with Home Performance contracting experience.

  • Optimizing Envelopes and their interactions with Building Systems

BUILDING ANALYST PROFESSIONAL:

  • Fundamentals of Building Science
  • Fundamentals of Buildings and their Systems
  • Measurement and Verification of Building Performance
  • Blower Door set up and operation
  • Pressure diagnostics with digital manometers
  • BPI Standards and Project Specifications
  • Analyzing Building Systems
  • Professional Ethics, Conduct & Communications

Course recommended prerequisites:

High School Diploma or GED. Minimum 2 years construction experience or equivalent training or education. Proficiency in math. Proficiency using computers including Microsoft Office and the Internet.   Proficiency inreading, writing, and Access to a computer with Internet access.
